Earn CEU’s: Perspectives of Autistic People, Caregivers, and Clinicians on Improving the ABA Service Landscape

Join the Atlanta Autism Consortium (AAC) for our September program exploring how autistic people, caregivers, and ABA clinicians view commonly used autism early intervention strategies—and what their perspectives can teach us about improving community-based ABA services.

This hybrid program will be offered in person at Marcus Autism Center and online via Zoom.

Continuing Education

Attendees may earn 1.5 Ethics CEUs for BCaBAs, BCBAs, and BCBA-Ds. The ACE Provider is Emory Autism Center at Emory University.

CE Instructor

Katherine Pickard, PhD, is an associate professor and licensed psychologist at Marcus Autism Center. Her work focuses on increasing access to high-quality care for autistic children and their families within their own communities. Her research includes developing interventions that can be adapted to the needs of families and communities and identifying strategies that help community providers learn, implement, and sustain high-quality care.

Clinically, Dr. Pickard’s work focuses on caregiver-mediated interventions for families of young autistic children and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for autistic youth with anxiety.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the perspectives of autistic people, caregivers, and ABA clinicians on common autism early intervention strategies.
  2. Name two reasons that influence how people perceive common autism early intervention strategies.
  3. Describe three challenges occurring in community-based ABA settings and strategies that may help address these challenges.
