Atlanta Autism Consortium Announces the Departure of Siobhán Alvarez, Executive Director
It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that the Atlanta Autism Consortium’s Board of Directors announces Siobhán Alvarez’s forthcoming departure as AAC Executive Director. Siobhán’s last day will be Friday, February 24th.
Siobhán joined the AAC in 2018, and has built many new, important strategic partnerships and helped improve and stabilize AAC operations and organizational processes, among many other accomplishments.
“I am proud of the progress the Atlanta Autism Consortium has made over the past four years, especially the number of individuals the AAC has grown to serve with our monthly programs, increasing from under 200 in 2018 to over 1100 in 2022,” said Alvarez.
“It has been a true pleasure seeing the organization grow and change over the years that I’ve been in this role. The course of my life has been forever changed by the connections that I’ve made with our families, community partners, and stakeholders. I will truly miss everyone but I’m confident to be leaving the Atlanta Autism Consortium in good hands and poised for a successful future.”
“We are so thankful for everything Siobhán has done for the AAC and strongly feel we would not be the organization we are today if not for her,” shares Dr. Nadi Nuhu, AAC Board of Directors Co-Chair. “We, as the AAC, are committed to continuing high quality programming and growing our presence in the autism community,” adds Dr. Tyler Whitney, AAC Board of Directors Co-Chair.
The Board of Directors are currently determining their next steps and will announce those to the community soon. The AAC’s Board Co-Chairs Dr. Nadi Nuhu and Dr. Tyler Whitney will be the community’s points of contact until a new permanent director is hired.
